Kakamatua Room

Kakamatua's large space boasts two rooms which are separated by a large sliding door; the environment can be expanded to allow space for those wet days and closed off for more intimate activities with smaller groups of children. One of the rooms also transforms into a quiet area for the children’s sleep time and rest in the middle of the day.  Both rooms open out to a generous sized playground with indoor outdoor flow offered wherever possible allowing the children the choice of where they want to spend their time learning. These areas are set up with activities that support the children’s interests and development

The Kakamatua team recognises the unique and spontaneous characteristics of toddlers. Therefore, the experiences offered throughout the day encourage curiosity, creativity, language development, physical exploration and friendships

Toddlers are learning to be independent and need time to develop their self-help skills in an unhurried environment 

Toddlers are full of life and exciting to be around which is what makes them so great to be around on a daily basis. We love being part of their lives and they certainly keep us on our toes
