Our Team
We have a genuinely caring professional team of teachers providing quality childcare. The focus on quality enables our team to nurture your children emotionally and socially.
We focus on the importance of transitions from home to centre and room to room. We are also mindful of the importance of transition to school and have an established ready for school programme in our Piha room which prepares children for the challenges of starting school.
Meet the team
Huia (0-12 months)
In the Huia room we endeavour to provide a calm, nurturing environment for children from birth to approximately 14 months, where we will focus on every child's individual needs.
As a teaching team we recognise the importance of positive social, emotional and physical development and endeavour to create an environment that promotes healthy development through loving relationships. We know it can be scary leaving your child for the first time and we try as hard as we can to support you and your child on this journey. We have an online resource for parents called StoryPark where you can access photos and videos of your child and we try to post new photos on here as often as we can so you can see your little one even while you are away from them.
Te Henga (12-24 months)
In the Te Henga room, we believe as teachers, it is our job to support and encourage children to be natural explorers. We also believe in the foundation skills that will help children become productive and happy members of society. We encourage this by providing a continuum of free, guided and teacher-directed play. Children have opportunities for free choice from a variety of open-ended resources and materials and inquiries are initiated by both children and teachers.
Kakamatua (24-36 months)
The Kakamatua room offers friendly, nurturing and loving teachers, a wide range of resources where lots of fun and explorative learning can take place with a large indoor/outdoor space.
Muriwai (36-48 months)
In the Muriwai room we are passionate about three year olds. We view our children as individuals and celebrate their unique personalities. We provide an inspiring environment that supports the children’s social, emotional, and physical well being. As teachers we aspire to develop respectful, responsive and reciprocal relationships between parents, teachers, children and wider community
Piha (48-60 months)
Here in the Piha room we provide a safe, happy fun environment where we recognise children as capable and independent learners. We keep our environment dynamic so that it is stimulating and appealing for our tamariki. We have a ‘School Readiness Programme’ that prepares children for their journey to school.
The Cooks
We have 2 trained full-time cooks who are certified in food hygiene. Every day they prepare fresh healthy nutritious meals for our children.
